“Strong” Man Utd first team player in talks to leave Old Trafford for UCL giants

As Manchester United look to restore the floor Reuben Amorimone first-team international is now reportedly in talks to swap his struggles at Old Trafford for the chance to play for the Italian giants.

Man Utd transfer news

Caught up in relegation worries since the arrival of Amorim as Premier League enters the new year, it would be an understatement to say that he has been far from the start that Manchester United’s new manager needed. Defeats to Bournemouth and Wolverhampton Wanderers brought the Red Devils back to reality after beating Manchester City before Newcastle United handed them a third straight defeat to leave them just seven points above the drop zone.

With a trip to Anfield and a Liverpool side that has lost just once all season in all competitions going forward, things don’t get any easier for Amorim’s side who are in desperate need of reinforcements.

Although it is clear that they need fresh faces and names such as Viktor Gyokeres already mentioned, however, INEOS may first choose to focus on raising funds by selling these surpluses on demand. And that could lead to the departure of one struggling forward.

According to Calcio Mercato as reported by Gianluca Di Marzio, Joshua Zirkzee is now in talks to ditch Manchester United for Juventus in January. The Italian giant is reportedly in talks with the forward’s representatives, but would rather a loan than a permanent departure, which those at Old Trafford seem to desire.

Ruthless from INEOS once again…

Since arriving at Manchester United for an estimated £36.5m this summer, Zirkzee has struggled to establish himself and find his best role – first under Erik ten Hag and now under Amorim. As United’s struggle continues and INEOS becomes relentless, it could already find itself on its way to the exit door.

“Strong” Zirkzee already needs the departure of Man Utd

While Amorim leaves his mark on Manchester United with his arrivals, Zirkzee’s situation will only get worse. The striker seems destined to fall further down the pecking order and has simply yet to impress, as highlighted by Amorim’s decision to drop the Dutchman in a tactical change against Newcastle in the first half.

What Zirkzee’s best role is remains unknown. The former Bologna man is arguably neither a classic number nine nor a creative number 10, with the notion that he is the perfect midfielder yet to be seen at Old Trafford.

A move away, even if it’s just a loan, could be just what the striker needs to rediscover his best role and the type of form that previously earned praise Ronald Koeman.

The former Netherlands coach told reporters as reported by One Football last September: “Joshua Zirkzee is strong and plays with the team. Together with Tijjani Reijnders he makes a good pair.”

Still only 23, Zirkzee still has time to do what others have done in the past and trade his Manchester United nightmare for eventual success elsewhere.
