Spurs’ “unbelievable” 9/10 gem is now unmissable
Last night’s game against Liverpool in the League Cup was huge for Tottenham Hotspurand the players did themselves proud.
Ange Postecoglou the party may be breaking up into Premier Leaguebut after yesterday’s superb game, they are now only 90 minutes away from the final and have a one-goal lead over Anfield.
There were brilliant performances from the Lilywhites all over the pitch, from the newly minted Antonín Kinsky in goal to the ever-impressive Dejan Kulusevski in midfield and the ever-dangerous Dominic Solanke up top.
However, two starters really stood out for us, and one of them was none other than Lucas Bergvall.
Bergvall’s match against Liverpool
So one of Spurs’ two best players last night was 18-year-old boy wonder Bergvall, who started in midfield and looked cool, calm and collected from the first minute to the last.
As well as covering what seemed like every blade of grass for Postecoglou, the former Djurgården ace was also a creative spark in the middle of the park and, crucially, made a perfect run into Liverpool’s box to set up the winner in the 85th minute.
Not surprisingly, the press was full of praise for the talented midfielder with football skills. London’s Alasdair gold 9/10 full timewriting that he has been ‘busy’ throughout and is ‘quickly adapting’ to first-team football.
Such a great assessment of the young Swede was more than supported by his statistics from the match.
For example, in 98 minutes of footballhe scored a goal, created two big chances, played three key passes, had two shots on goal, took 44 touches, won one foul, made two tackles and completed three tackles.

In short, it was a simply sensational performance and one that must keep him in the starting line-up for every important game going forward, which is exactly what can be said about Grandpa Spence as.
Spence’s match against Liverpool
Yeah, the other starter that really caught our eye was Spence.
The talented defender did just that his sixth start of the campaignand as has been the case in most other performances he’s had this season, his performance has been so good that it simply begs more questions about why he hasn’t started more games.
“Incredible” ace, as the iconic Ian Wright called ithe was absolutely solid at the back, so much so that we forgot Mohamed Salah was even playing, as well as a useful valve in attack.
Like his Swedish teammate, the 24-year-old star seriously impressed Gold, who awarded it another 9/10 assessment of the match and wrote that it was an ‘excellent display’ from the former Middlesbrough gem and that it is ‘really challenging now to keep his place in the long term’.
Maybe it all sounds like hyperbole, but it really isn’t, and his stats from the game prove it.

In the end, it could only be half-time in an even game, but Spurs were superb last night, and while there were brilliant plays on the pitch, Bergvall and Spence stood out and simply must start every important game from here on out.
