Scottie Scheffler has committed to play AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-AM next week, her first competition since she wounded her right hand while preparing a Christmas dinner.
Scheffler said at the beginning of the week that the recovery had progressed well and wanted to return, but that he would not “hurry back to hurry up.”
Scheffler tied up sixth on AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-AM last year, live Sky Sports from January 30, when it was reduced to 54 holes due to angry wind and rain.
This will play Scheffler’s playing tournament for the first time since he won the Bahamas for the second year in a row in December.
Scheffler also joined with Rory McIlroy in Las Vegas to win a match made for TV, which lasted only 14 holes against Brooks Koeka and Bryson Dechabbeau.
The 28-year-old said he could not touch the club while he was releasing his right hand to heal from the surgery that removed the glass and said, “It was quite unusual for me that I couldn’t work much at the gym.”
Scheffler had to miss the guard in Kapalu and American Express last week in the California desert and did not reveal when he would be suitable enough to play again.

Scheffler said he “lived almost all his life this year” after securing FedExcup victory, occupying the “Nuts” season – and on the golf course.
The 28-year-old became the first player to win players, Masters and FedExcup in the same season.
Scheffler closed his four -stroke win at the season championship, where he never gave up first place at any time during four days and became the first player from Tiger Woods in 2007 to register seven or more victories of the year at the year at PGA Tour.
After winning the Masters for the second time in three years, he was arrested and charged on the eve of his second round at the May Championship in May.
The charges were later rejected with Scheffler to win the next two signatures – the Travellers Memorial Tournament and Championship – before securing Gold for Team USA at the Paris Olympics and won the FedExcup PGA Tour for the first time in his career.
