Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim has reportedly decided that the club wants it too sign a goalkeeper to challenge Andre Onana for his number one spot.

Onana hasn’t had the most convincing start to life at Old Trafford, having been poor for much of the 2023/24 season after being brought in by Erik ten Hag, although he has started this term a bit better.

In recent games, however, we’ve seen Onana struggle again, looking very unconvincing for the number of goals Man Utd have conceded.

According to Manchester Evening Newsthis seems to have convinced Amorim to bring in another goalkeeper who could give Onana something to think about in terms of having to fight harder to keep his place.

Manchester United READY to attack the Barcelona star!

The Cameroon international has no real competition at the moment and it might be wise to shake things up a bit in that department, to see if he can spark a reaction from the players.

The Manchester Evening News report did not mention any specific names, but it could be that we are already seeing some names being considered by the Red Devils.

Sources informed CaughtOffside for whom United shows interest along with Arsenal Royal Antwerp goalkeeper Senne Lammens.

The 22-year-old Belgian shooting guard may not be the biggest name, but he looks like a decent prospect who could initially serve to give Amorim more depth, while also potentially developing into a replacement for Onana over time.

Onana has shone in the past at Ajax and Inter Milan, but he believes that the Premier League is a completely different beast, so it remains to be seen how much more time he will be given.

Amorim has inherited this troubled MUFC side which is largely made up of Ten Hag signings, so he will no doubt be ready to put his stamp on the squad.
