Ruben Amorim frustrated by Man Utd’s lack of transfers
Manchester United head coach Ruben Amorim is reportedly unhappy with the club’s failure to sign new players so far in January transfer window.
When Amorim joined the club, it was quickly revealed that United would have to sell players before they could strengthen the squad but, despite long-running rumors surrounding the futures of Marcus Rashford and Casemiro, there have still been no permanent departures from Old Trafford.
Still, Manchester Evening News states that Amorim wanted a more active approach from the club to raise funds and strengthen the 13th-placed squad, recently described by the boss himself as the worst in the history of the club.
It is even claimed that Amorim was not fully aware of the extent of United’s financial problems when he joined the club, although various sources insist that is not the case and that the head coach was given a full overview of the situation before agreeing to join.
United openly admitted to fans that they did on the verge of breaching the Premier League’s financial ruleswhich greatly limited their ability to recruit new players.
However, talks are ongoing regarding potential reinforcements. An offer of 30 million euros has been submitted for Lecce’s left back Patrick Dorguwhile United is also working on to seal a deal for Arsenal teenager Ayden Heaven.
Funds could be raised by selling Alejandro Garnach, who is of great interest to Chelsea and could cost close to £60m. Recent reports have suggested a a swap deal that would bring Christopher Nkunku to Old Trafford in exchange.
