Real estate mogul details how Los Angeles can rebuild after wildfires, says California leaders need to ‘step up’
Agency founder and CEO Mauricio Umansky criticizes state leadership and high costs for homeowners, but offers some ‘optimism’ about California’s rebuilding after devastating wildfires.
While many Californians have been outspoken in their disapproval of California state leadership’s response to the tragic and rampant wildfires, the Agency’s Mauricio Umansky believes they could “step up” and help rebuild the Golden State.
“I predict that the damage will be about 100 billion dollars. And we will need the help of absolutely everyone,” said Umansky. on “Varney & Co.” Friday.
“The likelihood of returning to your home for a short period of time is very low,” he continued. “We’ve got to go clean the water. We’ve got to get the power back on, the power back on. The government’s going to have to act and make it easier to issue permits. Set up a task force to really get involved in all this stuff and help rebuild.”
Palisades Fire, Eaton Fire, Kenneth Fire, Hurst Fire and Lidia Fire have burned more than 27,000 hectares and 10,000 homes and buildings in the Los Angeles area, officials say. The Eaton fire claimed seven lives, and three other fire-related deaths have been confirmed by the Los Angeles County Coroner, Fox News reported.
