Punjab Kings named Shreyas Iyer as captain for IPL 2025

Iyer, who was the captain Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) to the IPL title in the 2024 edition, the franchise released him in the following off-season. Punjab Kings secured his services for a whopping ₹26.74 crore during the IPL 2025 auction, making him the second most expensive purchase of the season.
