Private conversations between Sanju Samson and BCCI behind his ODI snub have been leaked

Indian national cricket team batsman Sanju Samson has been in the news lately for his selection saga with the Kerala Cricket Association (KCA). The batsman was not selected in the 2024-25 Vijay Hazare Trophy squad, making it a massive talking point in Indian cricket.

Kerala white-ball captain Sanju Samson has been dropped from the 2024-25 Vijay Hazare Trophy squad for not attending the preparatory camp. The batsman only sent one email to KCA about his unavailability for the camp but told them he would be available for the tournament.

KCA dropped Sanju Samson from the 2024-25 Vijay Hazare Trophy squad.

However, the one-line post and his unavailability for the camp did not go down well with KCA as he was dropped from the 2024-25 Vijay Hazare Trophy squad. There were reports that the batsman missing the tournament was the main reason behind his disdain for the 2025 ICC Champions Trophy.

But according to the latest reports in RevSportz, it is learned that KCA didn’t just play a role in his reprimand, it was BCCI who didn’t like Sanju Samson’s antics. Reports claimed that the BCCI asked the batsman why he did not play in the 2024-25 Vijay Hazare Trophy despite being a must-play.

BCCI is fuming over Sanju Samson’s casual approach

Samson, however, was candid in his response, saying that the state federation had told him that if he did not attend the camp, he would not be able to play in the 2024-25 Vijay Hazare Trophy. The BCCI then asked the wicketkeeper-batsman why he did not attend the camp and whether he was taking things in stride.

Samson was casual in his response this time, saying he felt he would be allowed to play even if he missed camp, just like last time. Reports claimed that this response did not go down well with the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) as they did not like his casual approach.

It is fair to say that Samson himself will have to blame for his disdain from the 2024-25 Vijay Hazare Trophy. As a result, the Indian national cricket team fielded two wicketkeepers in Rishabh Pant and KL Rahul, who were also part of the Test series against Australia.

Sanja Samson will now be seen in action during the T20I series against England

Sanju Samson’s exclusion from India’s 2025 ICC Champions Trophy squad has made many fans and pundits lash out at the BCCI for their selection. The keeper-batsman has a great record in ODIs, averaging over 55 and hitting a ton in his last game.

Sanja Samson will now be seen in action during the T20I series against the England cricket team. The first match of the five-match series between the teams will be played from Wednesday (January 22) at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata.
