Las Vegas Raiders hired the winner of Super Bowl Pete Carroll to a three -year contract to become their next main coach.
Carroll, who will become the oldest main coach in the history of NFL in September, will become the oldest coach of NFL when he takes over his fourth franchise.
Carroll is one of the four main coaches who, along with Barry Switzer, Jimmy Johnson and Jim Harbaugh, led the teams to the university football championship and to Super Bowla.
This 73-year-old helped bring USC Trojans to the National Championships and AP National Championships 2003 before he went to Seattle Seahawks.
Carroll led Seahawks to 10 playoffs, two conference championship titles and the only franchise win in Super Bowl.
The Raiders fired coach Antoni Pierce after achieving a score of 4-13 in his first full season. Pierce was 5-4 as a temporary coach 2023. After replacing Josha McDaniels.
Carroll becomes the 14th team coach since Jon Gruden was exchanged in Tampa Bay in 2002.
Carroll started his career at NFL with the New York Jets in 1994, achieving a 6-10 ratio. He had 27-21 in three seasons with the Patriots from 1997 to 1999, and joined Seattle 2010 after nine seasons in southern California.
One of his main challenges will be what to do as a back in a division that includes Patrick Mahomes of Chiefs, Justin Herbert from Chargers and Bo Nix from Broncos.
Mahomes goes toward his fourth super bowel title and the third in a row. Herbert is considered potentially top -notch, and Nix has just finished a very successful rookie season.
