MS Dhoni Still Missing International Cricket? India ‘GOAT’ makes a new discovery
Legendary India skipper MS Dhoni recently spoke about his life after retiring from international cricket. Dhoni also revealed whether he missed out on playing for India after hanging up his football boots or not.
Dhoni announced his retirement from international cricket in August 2020. His last international match was the ODI World Cup semi-final between India and New Zealandwhere the Men in Blue suffered a heartbreaking defeat.
Dhoni was dismissed in the final over as India failed to qualify for the final. His wicket was probably the final nail in the coffin as it allowed New Zealand to qualify for the summit clash.
Does MS Dhoni miss international cricket?
While speaking on the Eurogrip Tires YouTube channel, MS Dhoni spoke about his life after retirement. He claims that even after the end of international cricket, he still doesn’t have much time.
However, as expected, he gave a straight answer when asked about missing international cricket. He made it clear that he doesn’t miss it because he thought about the decision before announcing it and knows that there is no point in thinking again.
“I thought I would get more time, but unfortunately, I don’t have much time. I don’t miss international cricket because I always believe you know how to think about everything and then take a decision,” said Dhoni.
“Once you make a decision, there’s no point in really thinking about it. So I’m very happy with the grace of God whatever I could do for my country,” he added.
MS Dhoni on his life after retirement
MS Dhoni has shed some light on his post-retirement life and claims it has allowed him to reconnect with his family and friends. He also talked about his love for bikes and how he can ride them without many obstacles.
“It was fun. I was able to spend a lot of time with my friends, I can ride a motorcycle a lot more, not the long ones, that’s something very close to my heart. It was good, family time, daughter is asking when are you coming back,” remarked Dhoni.
Dhoni is known to have a long-standing love for motorbikes. The legendary wicketkeeper-batter has an extensive collection of bikes and is often seen riding them outside or near his home.
MS Dhoni still an active IPL player
Although he has retired from international cricket, MS Dhoni is still an active player in the Indian Premier League (IPL). The 43-year-old continued to play for his beloved franchise Chennai Super Kings and will appear after them in the upcoming season.
Dhoni has been retained by CSK for INR 4 crore in the uncapped player category since his last international match more than five years ago. In the last few years, he’s become more of a low-end stopper and has made a few fiery cameos down low.
