Mbilli and Sadjo Battles for IBF Mandatory Place
#3 Christian Mbilli (28-0, 23 KO) and #4 Kevin Lele Sadjo (24-0, 21 ko) will meet in the eliminator of the IBF Super Medium in May in Paris, France. The winner of the MBILLI-Sadjo fight will be a mandatory challenger for IBF super middle champion William Scull or whoever holds the belt by the time they fight.
Title implications
If the winner Mbilli-Sadjo is happy, Canelo Alvarez will hold an IBF title. Not that he would ever agree to fight the winner, but there is always a possibility. It’s unrealistic, but it’s the best winner Mbilli Vs. Sadjo.
If Scull still holds the IBF belt, there is not much for a financial fight against him except he captured his title to use him as a bait for bigger fights.
Earlier today, the Y12 Boxing won an offer for the Elimination Bag of the title of MBILLI-Sadjo IBF 168 LB. The 34-year-old Sadje is an eight-year professional. His best career victory is Jack Cullen, who doesn’t say much. It has power, but it is short in 5’8 ″ and there is not much time before it is over the hill. Mbilli should have some beating problems.
Mbilli, 28, is more striking than the expected unanimous victory in 10 rounds against 39-year-old Sergiy Derevyanchenko last year on August 17th. If Derevyanchenko was a few years younger, he would probably have defeated Mbilli and made it look easy.
Scull (23-0, 9 ko) is now a probable opponent with which the United Champion in the Three Summer Middle Weight Canelo will face Cinco de Mayo. Alvarez is likely to decide to fight him because he wants to regain his IBF title.
Other options in 168 are far more risky for alvarez. No one will be excited by Canelo Fighting Scull, but I don’t think he doesn’t care. In the last few years, Canelo has been struggling several times in the loss of Dmitry Bivol. Scull fits into the type of opposition Canelo.
