If United operates this month, it will likely be limited as they remain compliant with the PSR. A new left-back is very much on the agenda at Old Trafford, but signing a new striker is also high on the list for Amor. The Premier League is in direct negotiations to sign the Paris Saint-Germain striker Randal Kolo Muanias he is set to leave the French side on what appears to be a loan deal this month.
Meanwhile, it has also been reported that United will be offered the chance to sign him Jonathan David on a free transfer this summer. The Canada international looks set to leave Lille at the end of the campaign and is being offered to the Red Devils and other clubs.
Reports also indicate that talks are in between United and Juventus about replacements for Dušan Vlahović and Joshua Zirkzee now they are in an advanced stage. Both sides are showing a desire to get the job done, with the Serbian seen as an upgrade for the Red Devils in attack, and there is a feeling the move could be finalized in the coming weeks.
Man Utd are now ready to sign the £29m Sporting youngster
The search for a new striker does not stop there for United, because according to reports from Spain, Man United are now interested in signing Conrad Harder from Sporting CP as Gyokeres’ “Plan B” and are willing to invest in such a promising young talent.
The 19-year-old joined the Portuguese side in September from Nordsjaelland, with Amorim leading the pursuit for the player. Harder spent his entire career in Denmark before moving to Portugal, but his exploits in front of goal earned him a move to Lisbon.
And Harder has made an impressive start to life in Portugal, already among the goals and assists, although he has yet to earn a regular starting spot due to the presence of his Swedish superstar team-mate.
Harder, who is described as “very similar” Gyokeresu by analyst Ben Mattinson, has gained the attention of teams across Europe for his ability to be versatile in forward positions. The Danish international until the age of 21 can play as a number nine, but he showed in Lisbon that he can also play as a winger, which makes him a flexible asset.
If United do make a move for the striker, Lisbon will do everything they can to retain his services, and will demand at least 35 million euroswhich is approximately £29 million. That fee could be a problem for United, but signing Harder would be a player for now and the future.
