Man City are now in pole position and sign the second Bundesliga star after Marmoush
With Omar Marmoush due to arrive, Manchester City now they have reportedly moved into pole position and signed another Bundesliga talent in what could be a bargain.
Man City transfer news
After a disastrous first half of the campaign, Manchester City will always act in the January transfer window. And they acted, welcoming Vitor Reis, Abdukodir Khusanov and getting closer and closer to a deal for both of them Juma Bah and Marmoush. The latter is arguably the most impressive of them all and should go a long way in helping Erling Haaland reduce his goalscoring responsibilities.
Greeting both Khusanov and Reis, Pep Guardiola told reporters: “Welcome to the City family. I’m really pleased. They’re young players so they’ve been coming for years. Different types.
“Khusanov played here in France. [He has] Outstanding physicality and we hope he can learn English as soon as possible. Reis is a young Brazilian, very excited.”

Now, after such a busy January, those at the Etihad could turn their attention to the summer transfer window. According to TeamTalk, Manchester City have now achieved pole position by signing Joshua Kimmich when his current contract with Bayern Munich expires at the end of the season.
The player who went through at Bayern below Guardiola, Kimmich he could reunite with the Spaniard in the summer and solve his right-back and midfield problems at a bargain price.
Now 29, the German is no longer the rising star that Guardiola helped at Bayern. Kimmich is now an established, elite and experienced player who could solve City’s problems.
Man City should seal the reunion between Guardiola and Kimmich
Manchester City’s two biggest problems this season have been a lack of depth in defensive midfield to step in for the injured Rodri and a lack of depth at right-back to end Kyle Walker’s disastrous run of form. Kimmich would instantly solve both of those problems, with his versatility and technical ability ready for Guardiola’s City, just as he was for his Bayern many months ago.
Full of praise for the young Kimmich almost 10 years ago, the Spaniard’s prediction about the German’s bright future has since largely come true. He told reporters that he was reporting beIN Sports in 2016: “I love this kid. He has absolutely everything and can achieve anything he wants. He wants to learn and has passion.
“When I talk about Joshua Kimmich, I only say good things. I have a message for the press: Don’t say he can’t play in defense.”
Of course, many years later it’s clear that the Bayern star can play in defense and also get quite a job done. When the summer comes and his contract expires, a reunion with Guardiola would be perfect for all parties.
