French President Emmanuel Macron landed in Beirut on Friday for meetings with Lebanon’s president, prime minister and parliament speaker as the country tries to recover from a devastating 14-month war between Israel and Hezbollah. Macron’s visit aims to help “consolidate” the country’s sovereignty and unity, his office said.
