Liverpool will rival Barcelona and Man City for the Bayern Munich star on a free transfer
Liverpool have added Bayern Munich midfielder Joshua Kimmich to their summer roster transfer targets, the report claims.
Kimmich is now in the final six months of his contract and is free to talk to clubs abroad, with Barcelona and Manchester City regularly cited as interested parties.
Now, however, Sport Bild state Liverpool joined the race for Kimmich’s signature. Arne Slot wanted a new defensive midfielder in the summer and was then linked with the Bayern maestro, only to put his faith in Ryan Gravenberch instead.
Gravenberch flourished with more playing time, but that is acknowledged Liverpool still needs new reinforcements in the middle, especially if Wataru Endo leaves in the coming months.
During the summer, Kimmich is said to have drawn up a list of five potential landing spotswith Liverpool alongside Arsenal, Man City, Barcelona and Real Madrid.
Bayern have not given up hope of keeping Kimmich, with club officials publicly urging the 29-year-old to extend his stay at the Allianz Arena to write his name in the club’s history, but he has yet to make a decision on his future.
Kimmich confirmed at the beginning of December that wanted to resolve his future as soon as possiblepromising not to wait until the summer to sign the next contract.
