Liverpool want “one of Europe’s most pleasant surprises” to replace Chiesa
Liverpool they are believed to be interested in completing the signing of a player who has been described as “one of Europe’s most pleasant surprises” this season.
Liverpool transfer news
The Reds have been linked with many potential new signings, with the club reportedly submitting an offer for the Real Madrid midfielder Aurelien Tchouameni. The Frenchman was a target before joining Champions League holders Monaco in 2022, but their interest does not appear to have waned.
Another possible midfield option for Liverpool is the VfB Stuttgart ace Enzo Millotwho could be a cheaper alternative to Madrid. This 22-year-old has already developed into a key man in the Bundesliga four goals and two assists in the league this season.
However, it could be that some of the Reds’ current players move on in the near future, with the club reportedly considering accepting a £60m bid for Darwin Nunez at the end of the season. The Uruguayan continues to flatter and deceive at Anfield, with his finishing and all-round game under constant scrutiny, so perhaps it makes sense to cash in on him.
If Nunez moves on, a superior replacement will have to be found in Liverpool’s attack, with the Lille star Jonathan David he has emerged as a rumored target for the Merseysiders. The 24-year-old is enjoying another fruitful season in France, scoring 11 goals in 16 Ligue 1 games.
Liverpool are planning a move for an exciting 22 years
According to a new report from Football Insider, Liverpool is “making a plan” for Feyenoord striker Anis Hadj Moussaand the Reds are watching him “closely” after an impressive start to life at his current club.
The 22-year-old is claimed to have been “identified as a potential back-up for Mohamed Salah”, with Federico Chiesa struggling to be a good option in that right-back role, proving unavailable too often and, like Nunez, also in danger of being moved on.
Moussa could be the ideal long-term signing for Liverpool in the summer transfer window, initially coming in as an option behind Salah, assuming the Reds legend signs a new contract.
The the Algerian national team with three matches there is scored six goals in the Eredivisie and Champions League combined this season, scoring three times in the latter despite making just two starts. Meanwhile, football talent scout Jacek Kulig he recently called it “one of Europe’s most pleasant surprises”.
Planning for the future is key for Liverpool, not allowing star players to age without finding replacements, so taking Moussa at the end of the season would be a tricky business.
