Liverpool have set an asking price for Ben Doak after bids from Crystal Palace and Ipswich
Liverpool will demand at least £30m to part ways with winger Ben Doak, a report claims.
The highly-rated Doak impressed during his Championship loan spell with Middlesbrough and was at his best the subject of a £15m bid from Crystal Palacewhich saw their approach quickly rejected on Friday.
The Athletic state-owned Ipswich Town then tested Liverpool’s resolve with £16m offer for the teenager, but the Reds have again made it clear that he is not available for that price.
Liverpool see Doak as the best player in England’s second division and have incredibly high hopes for him in Arne Slott’s first team. As a result, The Independent states that he has been hit with a price tag of at least £30 million.
Crysencia Summerville’s £25m move from Leeds to West Ham United last summer was used to build up Liverpool’s asking price, with Doak believed to be worth far more than the £15m offered by Palace.
Liverpool I hope they leave Doak at Middlesbrough for the rest of the campaign before making a new decision on his future in the summer.
Doak’s short-term career could be linked to that of Mohamed Salah, whose public pressure on the club over his contract, which expires on Friday, continued with insisting he is in his final year at Anfield.
