Larry Kudlow on Pete Hegseth’s nomination
As President Trump reverses Joe Biden’s foreign policy failures, he needs a true warrior Pete Hegseth by his side and that’s the theme of the riff. Pete Hegseth will appear before the Senate Armed Services Committee tomorrow as President-elect Trump’s nominee for Secretary of Defense.
Before anyone says another word about his nomination, they should read Fox News Digital’s breaking story, which reports on how spectacular his military assessments have been. “Incredibly talented battle-proven leader” is one description. The highly decorated veteran and former Fox News host was described as displaying “extraordinary” leadership skills during his military service, which included deployments to Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, Iraq and Afghanistan.
Here’s a more detailed quote: “Assuming control of his platoon just days before deploying to Iraq in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom, he effectively led his platoon through five months of combat. He planned and executed platoon operations ranging from air assault to forward operational defense base.”
CANADA IS PREPARING TRUMP’S ANSWER TO TARIFFS: ‘THERE ARE NO WINNERS IN THE TRADE WAR’
The assessment goes on to describe how his platoon remained physically and mentally fit and captured the leader of an Al-Qaeda cell in Iraq. His leadership skills in controlling his squads, air support and other external means of combat support are then described.
According to another report obtained by Fox News Digital, the evaluators described him as an “absolutely outstanding officer” who was “intelligent, mature and extremely gifted” and had become “a tremendous asset to his battalion and contributed immensely to the battalion’s performance over the past six months.”
These ratings should be crucial in upcoming Senate committee hearings. It’s a great report by Fox News Digital and should clear up some of the false and unproven accusations leveled against him years ago, accusations that had nothing to do with his military prowess or overall management skills.
Veterans are rallying around Pete Hegseth and his nomination for Secretary of Defense. An indoor rally was held today, led by Senator Tommy Tuberville and Congressman Keith Self. Here’s a clip from Senator Tuberville today:
TOMMY TUBERVILLE: “We don’t need a general from the Pentagon. We’ve tried that. We need a drill sergeant, someone who’s been in two wars, someone who understands friendship and team, work ethic and time, restraint and respect. // We must return to everyday respect, loyalty and faith in this country with our military, and it all starts with Pete Hegseth believing in this country.”

Hundreds of veterans are expected to gather peacefully tomorrow in support of Pete Hegseth at the Vietnam Veterans Memorial and other Washington DC landmarks. In addition to serving as a highly decorated combat veteran on several battlefields, Pete Hegseth was educated at Princeton and Harvard and wrote an important book titled “The War on Warriors” — which argued for the importance of ending the awakening fixation on diversity, equity and inclusion — in favor of reviving a warrior culture in the Pentagon and the armed forces.
Joe Biden is leaving the White House with the world in an extremely dangerous place. Donald Trump intends to completely reverse this, in order to America advantage. The Senate needs to put a true warrior, Pete Hegseth, with Mr. Trump to help him do this. It’s a riff.
