The defendant rejects a jay-z and Sean Combs’ lawsuit
A lawsuit against Sean “Diddy” Combs and Jay-Z, who was allegedly raped by a 13-year-old girl in 2000, was rejected, according to a legal submission of reported on Friday in New York.
A lawyer who represented an anonymous prosecutor, who called Jane Doe, voluntarily withdrew the case, shows court records.
The submission of the application was filed by lawyer Tony Buzbee, who represents a dozen prosecutors in lawsuits with sexual misconduct against Mr. Combs.
The submission states that the prosecutor “thus notes that … the action was voluntarily discarded, with prejudice.”
Since release with prejudice is a lawsuit cannot be renewed again in its current form.
Roc Nation, a entertainment company founded by Jay-Z, whose statutory name Shawn Carter issued a statement he signed and called “Victory”.
“They were discharged frivolous, fictional and awful allegations,” he wrote.
“This civil lawsuit was without merit and never went anywhere. The fictional story they created was smiling, if not because of the seriousness of the claim.”
“The trauma my wife, my children, loved ones and I endured can never be discarded,” said the rapper, who is married to singer Beyoncé.
He continued: “The courts must protect the innocent from the accused without any evidence. Let the truth prevail for all victims and those falsely accused equally.”
Lawyer Jay-Z, Alex Spiro, emphasized in a separate statement that the case “should never have been brought in”.
“Having groomed in the face of terrible and false accusations, Jay did what was small,” he pushed back, never settled, never paid 1 Red Penny, triumphed her and cleaned his name, “he said in a BBC statement.
In October, Jane Doe filed a lawsuit against Mr Combs in October before adding the name of Jay-Z before December. She claimed that both men attacked her in 2000 after MTV Video Music Awards afterparty.
Jay-Z strongly denied the allegations, claiming that his lawyer sent a “blackmail” in an attempt to force the settlement. He said the attempt was a “opposite effect” and instead motivated him to publicly challenge the charges.
In December, Jane Doe gave an interview that asked questions about her credibility. She admitted that “not all the facts were clear” and she stated, “I made some mistakes. Maybe I was wrong to identify.”
Last month Jay-Z officially asked the court to dismiss the lawsuitciting inconsistencies in the accuser account. The request was approved by the District Judge of the United States of Analysis Torres, which led to the dismissal of the lawsuit.
Although Jay-Z no longer faces legal proceedings in this case, Mr. Combs continues to fight three dozen civic suits.
In response to the release on Friday, the legal team of Mr Combs published a statement in which he declared his innocence.
“For months we have seen a case after a case submitted by individuals hiding behind anonymity, and the lawyer focused more on the media titles than for legal merit. Only like this claim, the rest will fall apart because they have no truth,” “the statement says .
He added, “This is only the first of many to be held in court.”
Mr. Combs was held at the Metropolitan Center in Brooklyn, New York, since September 2024. For federal criminal charges related to the reaction and trade of sex.
He was rejected three times, and he would remain in custody until the trial of May 5, 2025.
