Freed Hamas hostage sends message to Trump to save American husband and others from ‘hell’ of captivity
Freed Hamas hostage Aviva Siegel is desperate to see her husband Keith returned home alive more than 450 days after the attackers kidnapped him on October 7, 2023.
Speaking on “Fox & Friends” on Tuesday, Siegel sent a message to President-elect Donald Trump rescue him and the other remaining hostages from “hell” as he prepares to return to the White House.
“I want to tell Trump that he can save them,” she said.
“Please, please, the new year is coming and I want Keith to come back and say, ‘Happy New Year, Keith. Happy New Year to all the hostages.’ They deserve to come out of hell… the whole world is just waiting to see the strongest nation in the world [the U.S.] – how strong they are. They have to be stronger and get them out now.”
Siegel, who was also arrested when Hamas terrorists launched the initial attacks on Israel, was released after 51 days, while Keith was left behind.
She often wears a shirt with his portrait on the front and “Bring Them Home Now” printed on the back, a reminder of the cause she champions every day.
“Keith is the sweetest, most loving person in the world. He is very proud to be an American and is waiting to get out of Gaza,” she said.
“He’s out there suffering underground in the worst conditions anyone could ever deal with and Keith is so sensitive. He’s just waiting and keeping himself alive to get back to his family and his grandchildren who love him so much and can’t wait to get him back are.”
At least seven of the approximately 100 hostages remaining in Gaza are Americans, and their futures are uncertain as the new year approaches. Trump promised to “pay hell for everything” if Hamas fails to release the prisoners before he takes office on January 20, giving the terrorist group just over 20 days to comply with his request.
Siegel says no human being should be forced to go through what she had to go through under the thumb of Hamas.
“No human being should be thrown underground for more than 450 days. They are Americans, some of them. Keith is an American and they have to get him out. They have suffered enough,” she said.
“Think about the girls just waiting to be raped again and Keith just waiting to be beaten to pieces again or starved or threatened or thrown underground without oxygen, I’ve been there. I almost died. I’m happy I’m sitting here alive because I know that that place is dangerous. It is very dangerous and no war should continue anywhere in the world. We should stop. Killing people is wrong. People should study. We want to learn not to die.”
