Podcaster Joe Rogan has had several moments this year that have shaped America’s national discourse in unprecedented ways.
Rogan’s podcast “The Joe Rogan Experience” was already known as one of the most popular shows in America, discussing the cultural and political issues of today. But while post-election Americans remain as polarized as ever, there is one thing they can agree on podcasts like Rogan’s They seem to influence voters more than celebrity endorsements or legacy media.
Rogan interviews and endorses Donald Trump
Trump’s late October marathon look on “The Joe Rogan Experience,” has been viewed more than 53 million times on YouTube alone and is believed to have been a turning point in the election. During one viral segment of the interview, the former and future president expressed wonder at how he somehow gets more publicity than others, prompting Rogan to suggest why. “I could tell you for sure,” Rogan replied and laughed. “You said a lot of wild s—.”
“Maybe,” Trump replied with a smile.

“You said a lot of wild sh— and CNN in all its brilliance, highlighting your wild s— made you a lot more popular, and got you up in the polls because people were tired of somebody talking that way — — prepackaged political jargon, and even if they didn’t agree with you, at least they knew, ‘Whoever that guy is, that’s him, that’s really him.'”
During another segment, Trump recalled that Elon Musk gave him “the nicest endorsement” and suggested, “You should do the same thing, Joe, because you can’t vote for Kamala. You’re not a Kamala person.”
Indeed, Rogan continued to support Trump ahead of the election, claiming while sharing a link to an interview with Musk that day: “The great and mighty @elonmusk. If it wasn’t for him, we’d be f*cking… ked. He makes what I think is the most compelling argument for Trump you’re going to hear, and I agree with him every step of the way, yes, that’s Trump support. Enjoy the podcast.”
By comparison, Vice President Kamala Harris’ potential interview with Rogan fell through, reportedly due to opposition from progressive staff. Longtime Democratic strategist James Carville called this a “big mistake” and said he would tell such employees, “I really don’t care about your uninformed, stupid, jacka– opinion on whether or not to go after Joe Rogan.”
Rogan calls out Oprah, Michelle Obama DNC speech hypocrisy on wealth: ‘Hey, lady, you’re rich k…’
The Democratic National Convention in August brought together many of the Democratic Party’s best-known leaders and allies, a Rogan singled out two of them for hypocrisy.
TV personality Oprah Winfrey gave a rousing speech at the DNC in which she argued that working to preserve democracy “requires standing up to life’s bullies.” She also recalled that she had seen, and sometimes was on the receiving end of, “racism and sexism, inequality and income distribution.”
Likewise, former first lady Michelle Obama spoke of how her mother showed her “the meaning of hard work, humility and decency,” adding, “She and my father didn’t aspire to be rich. In fact, they were suspicious of people who took more than they should have. They realized that it’s not enough for their children to thrive if everyone else around us is drowning.”

Rogan responded by jabbing both women for having the audacity to make such statements of wealth, given their vast wealth.
“How about Oprah?” Rogan said. “Oprah was talking about her and Trump running together, and now she’s telling the DNC that he’s a threat to democracy and she’s talking about income inequality up there, like, ‘Hey lady… you’re a rich f…’ . I wonder, ‘How is that equal?'”
The podcaster then added, “And also when Michelle Obama was saying, you know, I think she was saying that her mother or grandmother was always suspicious of people who took more than they needed, like, you’re worth so much money. It’s so crazy. You did it on a civil servant’s salary, which is crazy.”
Joe Rogan roasts ‘The View’ as a ‘rabies-infected chicken coop’
Shortly after author Coleman Hughes spoke out about his contentious interview on “The View,” Rogan characterized ABC’s show as uniquely disgusting.
In late March, Hughes joined the co-hosts of “The View” to discuss his book, “The End of Racial Politics: The Case for Color-blind America.” During the show, co-host Sunny Hostin scathingly dismissed Hughes’ “colorblindness argument” as something embraced by the right, claiming that many in the black community think he’s “kind of a charlatan” being “used as a pawn by the right.”
After noting his history of voting for Democrats, Hughes shot back, “I don’t think there’s any evidence that I’ve been co-opted by anybody, and I think that’s an ad hominem tactic that people use to avoid addressing, really, the important conversations that we’re having here .”
Later, as Rogan spoke to the author about his tense conversation with Hostin, the podcaster noted that “The View” is a show that “people love to hate,” mocking it as “rabies infected chicken house”.

Hughes clarified, “I didn’t necessarily expect her to try to ambush me like that and attack my character like that and I responded to it in the moment like I do, and I didn’t expect it to go as viral as it did, but I think it’s definitely gone more viral than anything I’ve ever done.” The author also speculated, “At the same time, the most interesting part seemed to be that their audience seemed to be on my side.”
Rogan suggested that most of their on-set audience was paid to be there, a practice he said was common in the industry, while “the real fans of ‘The View’ who say, ‘Oh, these ladies are on point,’ most of you people can’t leave the house, like they’re probably immobile.” The host also claimed that while Hostin appears intelligent, she is “ideologically trapped” and some of the other hosts are “very dumb”.
Rogan blasts the NYT for a piece asking if the US Constitution threatens democracy
Rogan was stunned after a New York Times writer wrote a piece suggesting that America’s founding document is dangerous to democracy.
A late-summer article by The Times book critic Jennifer Szalai asks whether “one of the greatest threats to American politics could be the country’s founding document.” She went on to suggest that “Trump owes his political rise to the Constitution, which makes him the beneficiary of a document that is fundamentally anti-democratic and, in this day and age, increasingly dysfunctional.”
Rogan expressed his surprise that the piece was not satirical.

“This is not the Babylon Bee; this is an actual New York Times article, see? This is so crazy,” Rogan said on his show. “It’s really hard to believe that someone would print this and the New York Times would say, ‘Yeah, we like it, publish it!’
“What are you talking about?” Rogan asked rhetorically as he thought about the article. “One of the greatest threats to American politics could be one of the greatest documents that any country has ever been founded on, if not the greatest ever? That could be a threat to American politics? What politics are we talking about? What – how can you get me enough make me agree with you on this?”
Rogan jokingly claims Biden voted for Trump: ‘He’s never been happier in his life’ that Harris lost
Rogan jokingly suggested that Biden had actually been ousted from the Democratic nomination happy Trump won against his democratic opponent.
One of the main reasons why Trump’s visit to the White House went viral is that Biden gave him a warm welcome. Commentators, from podcasters to journalists, expressed their open astonishment that Biden greeted him with “Welcome back,” a sharp departure from his history of fiery speeches denouncing him and his supporters as a threat to American democracy.
“You know what was one of my favorite things about this whole election cycle? Yesterday when Biden and Trump were sitting in the White House,” Rogan said. “Biden voted for Trump. I guarantee it. I fucking guarantee it. I’ve never seen that guy so happy in my fucking life. He lost. His party lost. He was happy.”

He then compared the welcome to the way then-President Obama greeted Trump after his first victory in 2016, claiming Obama looked angry then.
When shown a photo of Biden beaming next to Trump, Rogan immediately started laughing: “Look, look at Biden! Look at his fucking smile, man! Look at his fucking smile, man. It’s like when your kid gets married.”
Rogan went on to say that Biden felt joy that Harris was soundly defeated, recalling when he was president put a Trump hat on his head during the campaign.
“I guarantee you, I guarantee you mother—-er was happy. He had a giant smile on his face. He said, ‘Welcome Back’ him,” he joked.
