Istanbul court prisons 7 journalists as protesters fill the streets

Thousands of students who sang angry slogans on Tuesday hit Istanbul Street on Tuesday as the court closed the AFP journalist six others because of the coverage of the biggest protests that they had hit Turkey in more than a decade. The demonstrations broke out after the arrest of the Mayor of Istanbul, the chief political rival of President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, in an action that saw more than 1,400 people arrested, including 11 Turkish journalists.
