New York Jets: Some players did not approve of Aaron Rodgers’ divorce

It’s been only a few weeks since New York Jets discovered their intentions start from Aaron Rodgers.
“…. We met Aaron and shared that our intention was to go the other direction at the attacker,” said Chief Coach Aaron Glenn and General Director Jets, Aaron Glenn and Director General Darren Mougey in a joint statement on February 13th.
Glenn was in Indianapolis this week on the annual part NFL Scouting Combinewhere he admitted that the franchise decision was to separate with a veteran striker left some players of Jets “upset.”

Quinnen Williams was among those who did not seem to approve of Rodgers’ departure, with a triple defensive ship Pro Bowl, who used emoji with thumbs on social networks after the separation news appeared. Williams also wrote: “Another year of renovation for me, I suppose,” on X, previously known as Twitter, in an apparent reaction to the decision of Jets.
Glenn said he had a private discussion with Williams about his reaction. This also made it clear Jets’ The priority is to win football games.

“Yes, I talked to him,” Glenn told reporters. “And listen, I understand the reaction of the player, but I will say this: every decision that I and [general manager Darren Mougey] Make is to win and win now.

After his campaign interrupted his injury in 2023, Rodgers played in all 17 games last season. While he ended up with 28 Touchdown against 11 intercepts, his overall effect seemed not to fulfill Jets’ expectations.

Jets ended with a 5-12 record. Mougey also addressed reports that he said that Rodgers got a “ultimatum” o His performances on “Show Pat McAfee.”
“I’ll say this – there was never an ultimatum or a rules of engagement for Aaron to potentially join the Jets,” Mougey said. “It never happened. AG and I had a lot of dialogue, a lot of conversations, a lot of good thoughts and we just felt, at the end of the day, it was the best thing to move forward, to go in the other direction in the attacker’s position.”
Rodgers has not yet made any public comments about his break up with the Jets. Mougey said the team expects to name the Sugal Bowla signal caller as a cut 1 of June. The move allows the Jets to share a salary cap over a two -year period.
Also in combination, Glenn doubled his statements from his introductory press conference that he had talked a large amount of Rodgers’s questions.

“I do not want to disrespect any of the players we have on our team, and that is somehow to me—- Some other players we all talk about,” Glenn said. “You have Quinnen Williams, you have quincy Williams, you have Avt [Alijah Vera-Tucker] And now you have Joe Tippmann. All these guys need to be respected and as far as games are concerned. “

Rodgers’ output leaves a back blow to Jets. The Tyrod Taylor veteran backup remains under a contract with a team. Glenn described Taylor as a “good player”, but stopped declaring him a team starter for 2025.
