JAKARTA (Reuters) – Indonesia’s budget deficit for fiscal year 2024 was below the government’s latest estimate of 2.7% of gross domestic product, Finance Minister Sri Mulyani Indrawati said on Thursday.
Without mentioning the exact figure, Sri Mulyani said the deficit is almost as small as the government’s original plan to keep the fiscal gap at 2.29% of GDP.
The details will be known later, she said at the ceremony on the occasion of the New Year’s opening of the stock exchange.
