‘I’m a neurosurgeon – this is what I eat for brain-healthy breakfast’
Breakfast can be the most important meal of the day for several reasons – i feeding your brain is one of them.
In a video posted on X on Sunday, Fox News medical contributor Dr. Nicole Saphier asked her neurosurgeon husband, Dr. Paul Saphier, Ph.D. med., what he eats for breakfast.
DR. NICOLE SAPHIER ON ULTRA-PROCESSED FOOD IN AMERICA: ‘PEOPLE PROFIT FROM ADDICTION’
Saphier, founder of Coaxial Neurosurgical Specialists in New Jersey, responded that he had “healthy heart and brain breakfast.”
This included a variety of ingredients that could be used to make a yogurt parfait.
The meal started with 0% fat Greek yogurt, which provides “great lean protein” as well as probiotic health benefits, the doctor said.

Saphier added some high antioxidant blueberries – great for both cardiovascular health and brain health – as well as some honey.
“Immunologically, [honey] it’s good for you,” he said. “There’s a lot of antioxidants in there, too. It helps reduce many other brain-related problems.”
The neurosurgeon also included granola his breakfast which is blended with chia seeds, flax seeds and nuts for “fatty, healthy oils” like omega-3 fatty acids.
