Montreal Canadiens prospect Ivan Demidov and his girlfriend Ekaterina Yakovleva (Katya) attended the SKA St. Christmas party. Petersburg on Sunday. Demidov, the first pick of the 2024 NHL draft, currently plays for SKA St.

Ekaterina shared moments from this weekend’s event with a carousel of pictures on her Instagram account. In the title she wrote:

“New Year’s atmosphere🎄🎰🎁”

One photo shows Ivan and Katja posing together in front of a Christmas tree, beautifully decorated with lights and red ribbons. Ivan wore a tailored blue suit with a light blue shirt and bow tie, while Katya wowed in an elegant black dress.

In another photo, Katya showed off her skin-tight black top with silver detailing, paired with sleek black trousers and a small clutch. She also published a group photo with the other partners of the SKA players, all dressed in elegant black outfits.

Another click captured Ivan and Katya dancing together. Ivan took off his blazer and smiled at the camera while holding hands with Katja. The last slide shows Katya standing next to a friend.

Ivan Demidov received a sweet birthday card from his girlfriend Katja

On December 10, Ivan Demidov celebrated his 18th birthday. On this occasion, the young hockey star received heartfelt messages from his girlfriend and his older brother Semjon Demidov.

Katya posted an intimate photo of the couple on her Instagram stories sweet birthday wish. The picture showed them sitting near the window. Ekaterina wrote the photo:

“Happy birthday @i.demidov ❤️ love you,” which translates to “Happy birthday @i.demidov ❤️ I love you”

Ivan’s brother Semyon also posted a nostalgic photo of the two brothers from their childhood on Instagram. The picture shows them crouching in the open as children, and Semyon writes in Russian:

“Happy birthday, Bratiška 🎉❤️,” which translates to “Happy birthday, little brother 🎉❤️.”

Selected fifth overall by the Canadiens in the 2024 NHL Draft, Demidov has strong scoring and playmaking abilities. He made his debut for SKA St. Petersburg in 2022 at just 16 years old and has already earned honors such as KHL Rookie of the Month and a spot on the KHL All-Rookie Team this season.

The Canadians they plan to bring Demidov to North America after his current season with SKA. Although he is under contract through the 2024-25 season, Demidov has expressed his intention to join the team after his KHL contract expires. Canadiens officials, including GM Kent Hughes, are expected to visit him in the coming months monitor its progress.
