Chip Gaines does not want five children to equate success with final projects

Former HGTV star Chip Gaines is the teaching of their five children valuable lesson.
While he and his wife, Joanna Gaines, raise their big robber and expand their growing Magnolia empire, the couple recently opened up to fight to find balance and peace “within the tension of life.”
Chip, 50, recently shared that they wanted their children to accept the “joy of travel”, not focusing solely on success.

“For me, the reward is not when I arrive at my destination. So I rode the waves,” Chip wrote in the latest issue of Magnolia magazine. “How many times have I been willing to take big swings, even if it means to lose the base. How often I dared to turn to not for danger, but deep pleasure.”
He continued, “Although nothing is wrong with the moments of comfort and return, sometimes I worry that our world has put these ideals on the pedestal. Happiness began to look like lightness and success like the final lines.”

“I already know that these kinds of pictures will feed on my children every day of their lives. I do not want them to have an unrealistic or discouraging understanding of the alternative: the joy of travel.”
