Brighton they made the first big deal of the January window, although they did sign midfielder Diego Gomez in December. They will pay MLS outfit Inter Miami £11m for the Paraguayan, who becomes Fabian Hurzeler’s first signing of the winter.
The Seagulls have had promising results in the first half of the Premier League season, so their 10th place finish in 2025 is somewhat disappointing.
However, they remain firmly in the race to return to European football for the first time since the search under their new head coach, who oversaw victories over Man City and Spurs in his first months in charge.

Tottenham Hotspur
Total spent: £3.3 million
Tottenham Hotspur haven’t had the best start to the season and their lack of squad options this term suggests they could be busy for the next few weeks.
Their first arrival may not improve their squad depth too much, as youngster Yang Min-hyeok may not get significant first-team playing time right away.
Ange Postecoglou will certainly be on the lookout for more effective transfers over the coming month as Spurs attempt to escape from the bottom half and re-qualify for Europe while juggling their Europa League commitments in the new year.
