Everton are making inquiries for the “powerful” striker who is also wanted by West Ham
Everton they have now made inquiries about the “powerful” striker who could be allowed to leave his current club this month, according to the report.
Dominic Calvert-Lewin is among the goals again
Ago David Moyes‘ return to Goodison Park, Dominic Calvert-Lewin struggled in front of goal in Premier Leaguebut the striker spoiled his puck by opening the scoring in the 3-2 win against Tottenham Hotspur this weekend.
Moyes was impressed by Calvert-Lewin’s performance, saying: “The biggest thing today is that he played as a real number nine at times today.
“He worried the centre-halves, he was a threat, he was challenging, he was winning a good percentage of his aerial duels. He was involved in everything, a lot of really good things today.”
Although the Englishman has recently returned to form, there is still considerable doubt over his future on Merseyside, as his contract expires at the end of the season and a number of clubs have been linked with moves.
Connected
As such, the Toffees may need to bring in another striker this month, and they have now done so the first concrete move to sign Breel Embolo from AS Monaco by establishing contact and asking about his availability.
West Ham United have also taken the same course of action, but Como are believed to be leading the race to sign the striker, so there could be serious competition for Embolo’s signature this month.
Monaco are believed to be willing to let the striker leave this winter, having signed Mika Biereth, with Moyes looking to bolster his strike force, so it’s a deal that could make sense for all parties.
What Embolo could offer Everton
The 27-year-old has plenty of experience in the Europa League and Champions League, and has proven himself in the Bundesliga and Ligue 1 as well, putting up impressive numbers in front of goal over the past five full seasons.

The Swiss international missed almost the entire 2023-24 season due to injury, but has since managed to return to Monaco’s starting 11, scoring three goals in the last five matches.
Journalist Josh Bunting was full of praise for the former Borussia Monchengladbach player at the start of the 2022-23 season, and outlined his key strengths.
Moyes will be hoping Calvert-Lewin deflected the ball after scoring last time out, but it could still be worth looking at Embolo this month, given his record in front of goal and ability when it comes to running.
