Devin Haney will fight at BLK Prime on March 25th. The streaming service posted a tweet informing its followers that Haney (31-0, 15 KOs) will next fight at BLK Prime. This suggests it will be a PPV.
Haney is not a pay-per-draw player and would have to face someone big to bring in a respectable number of buys. He will be coming off an 11-month layoff and it would be risky for him to fight a solid opponent or a world champion at 140 or 147.
This is a move that will further reinforce the belief that Haney’s career is over and that he is just playing his part. Obviously, he will still try to get a rematch with Ryan Garcia, but if that doesn’t work out, he could end up fading into obscurity.

Boxing fans on social media are mocking the news of Haney’s fight on BLK Prime, seeing it as a step backwards from his fights on DAZN and ESPN. It’s unlikely that many people will see him fight at BLK Prime unless the event draws a lot of interest.
It’s a major setback for Haney, who lost a 12-round majority decision to Ryan Garcia on April 20 last year and hasn’t fought since. Devin’s stock fell dramatically after that loss and his decision to sue Ryan for defamation, fraud and breach of contract.
It’s unclear if this will be a long-term situation for Haney or just a one-off fight at BLK Prime. If he loses the fight, he might as well stay because his chances of fighting on a big network would be slim. Ryan Garcia won’t need a rematch with Haney, 26, if he loses to a can of tomatoes.
It would be interesting to know if Devin’s father, Bill Haney, is the one behind his decision to fight BLK Prime.
Terence Crawford fought David Avanesyan at BLK Prime on December 10, 2022. The fight was rumored to be a bad PPV, but it was the only time Crawford fought on that network.
Two years ago, former four-division world champion Adrien Broner was scheduled to fight Ivan Redkach at BLK Prime, but the match was canceled and never happened. It’s another fight that would probably do poorly on PPV.
