Desantis faces the resistance of GOP to a special legislative session on immigration that starts today

“Thank you Rone, hopefully other governors will follow us!” Trump wrote in social networks post after Desantis announced a special session.
However, the opposition of GOP state legislators for convening a special session is a dramatic reversal of events for Desantis, who has long enjoyed a huge impact on Florida’s legislation, especially after his re-election with almost 20 points 2022.
