Daniel Dubois determined to end Usyk’s unbeaten streak against the British
Daniel Dubois wants to “stop” Oleksandr Usyk’s winning streak against British fighters, winning one after another and making it look easy. Usyk is 7-0 against the Brits and looks unbeatable right now.
Can anyone stop Usyk?
It’s probably not a good idea for Dubois to mess with Usyk as he already lost to him once by a ninth-round knockout on August 26, 2023. Losing the rematch would destroy the momentum he’s gained since that horrible experience.
Dubois would be wiser to focus on trying to get a rematch with Anthony Joshua because that is one that is winnable and would pay huge money.
IBF heavyweight champion Dubois (22-2, 21 KOs) thinks he is the one who can end former undisputed two-weight champion Usyk’s “lucky” streak.
Usyk’s victories against the British
– Tyson Fury x 2
– Anthony Joshua x 2
– Daniel Dubois
– Derek Chisora
– Tony Bellew
I don’t know why it bothers Dubois so much that Usyk is beating his countrymen because they would lose to other fighters if they were willing to go up against them. If you put Joshua or Fury with Martin Bakole they will get whipped as bad or worse than what Usyk did.
Dubois: British last hope?
“It is high time; someone has to put a stop to it. When that time comes, I’ll be ready for it,” said Daniel Dubois to BoxNation on how Oleksandr Usyk beat all the best British heavyweights. He was lucky last time.
“It was not a low blow. You’ve never seen him grab balls on the floor. He was lucky last time. He won’t be so lucky next time. I’ll be ready for him. I’m too much for him. I challenge him. I want to become undisputed and get all the belts. I have to go through Parker, but I want to be unassailable.
“It was a close fight. In the last few rounds, he’s outworked him,” Dubois said of Usyk’s win over Tyson Fury in their Dec. 21 rematch. “It will be a big fight between me and either of them, Fury or Usyk. That’s my thinking right now.
“I was a competitor for a long time. I’m a champion and I want to move like a champion and take no prisoners. I want to go through Usyk like a train,” said Dubois.
The way Oleksandr dominated in ‘The Gypsy King; Tyson Fury made it clear in their rematch last month that he owns the UK fighters and will continue to beat them until he gets old.
Fury (36) looked older in the rematch with Usyka and it is not surprising that he was beaten. The first fight took something out of him, leaving him with the worn-out, worn-out fighter Usyk faced last month. It was a pitiful spectacle that Fury made of himself, complaining in the post-fight press conference that he had won by three rounds. There are no words to describe what a grumpy, miserable sport he is.
