Cody Rhodes shares an emotional moment with a young fan after retaining his WWE title against the 40-year-old star
Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes successfully defended his title at a recent live event in Florida. Rhodes also shared a touching moment with a young fan in attendance after the game. Moments later, it went viral on social media.
The American nightmare has come to grips with Kevin Owens in a Steel Cage match in Miami on Sunday for the Undisputed WWE Championship. It was part of the company’s annual Holiday Tour, and Florida was one of the locations this year. WWE stars performed in Jacksonville, Orlando and Miami from December 26 to 29.
After defeating the 40-year-old by knockout, Rhodes saw a fan at ringside that read “I beat cancer to be here.” The current champion invited the brave kid to the ring to celebrate their victory together. Cody even gave the young fan his American Nightmare weight belt.
Rhodes then hugged the boy before lifting him into his arms and waving to the crowd, creating an incredible memory for the cancer survivor. The moment was shared by WWE on its official website Instagram account.

Cody Rhodes will face Kevin Owens at the Royal Rumble
WWE will kick off the Road to WrestleMania 41 on February 1st at the Royal Rumble. PLE will mark the official start of the WrestleMania season, with Cody Rhodes set to defend his Undisputed WWE Championship against Kevin Owens in Indianapolis.
Last week on Smackdown, the Knockout got under the champion’s skin, who decided to face his rival in a Ladder Match to unify the Undisputed WWE Title and his version of the Winged Eagle at the upcoming Royal Rumble. That was what Rhodes wanted, so SmackDown General Manager Nick Aldis made it official.
After the confirmation, Owens pushed Aldis into Rhodes, who was still suffering from the effects of the Package Piledriver from Saturday Night’s Main Event. Prizefighter wasn’t finished as he kicked The American Nightmare in the head several times.
Cody Rhodes vs. Kevin Owens will be the third time the WWE Championship is defended in a singles Ladder match. Rock he defeated then-champion Mankind on the February 15, 1999 episode of RAW. The Undertaker defeated Jeff Hardy in a memorable Ladder Match to retain his title on the July 2002 Monday Night Show.
