Chelsea have offered a shock chance to re-sign the former academy graduate
Chelsea have reportedly been offered the chance to re-sign centre-back Fikayo Tomori from AC Milan.
Tomori came through the Blues’ academy but was sacked in January 2021 after falling out of favor with Frank Lampard, and played a key role in Milan’s Serie A triumph the following season.
This year, however, Tomori lost his place in the starting line-up. Former boss Paulo Fonseca has given him just 13 minutes of action in the last ten Serie A games, and it remains to be seen whether new signing Sergio Conceicao will restore the Englishman to the starting line-up.
With questions about his future, Juventus have been strongly linked with move for Tomori, but Sky Sports Switzerland a shock return to Chelsea has also been suggested.
Chelsea are tipped to strengthen their defense this month and have been offered the chance to re-sign Tomori, who made 27 appearances during his short-lived first-team spell at Stamford Bridge.
However, as it stands now, Chelsea are thought to be unenthusiastic and will only pursue Tomori if Axel Disasi leaves the club.
Disasi is under enormous pressure after a string of unconvincing performances, and he has been recently linked with Bundesliga champions Bayer Leverkusenwhile Juventus are also mentioned as potential suitors for the Frenchman.
