Canelo rematch? Berlanga’s Wild Wish List
Edgar Berlanga announced the next six fights he wanted after the March 8 fight, rumored to be against the Traveler Gabriel Rosado (26-17-1, 15 KO) in Puerto Rico. Rosado hasn’t won in four years since 2021.
Six fights, zero chance?
He would probably lose all six of the fights Berlanga wants. This would make it difficult for him to fight the remaining five without a huge buffer from the fighters who chose to fight him.
Edgar was on the roster Jermall Charlo and the recently knocked out Jaime Munguia. Even those guys would probably be too talented against the much bigger Berlanga.
Interestingly, Berlanga (22-1, 17 KOs) has included a rematch with Canelo Alvarez as one of the six fights he wants, which seems highly unlikely without him beating someone at a high level at light heavyweight or cruiserweight.
Canelo will never fight Berlanga without doing something beyond his capabilities, like beating David Benavidez, David Morrell, Arturo Beterbiev or Dmitry Bivolo.
Berlanga was allegedly rehydrated in 193 kilograms For his 12-round unanimous decision loss to Canelo last September 14th. Brooklyn, New York, Berlanga looked massive in the ring with Canelo that night. Surprisingly, he was able to make 168 lb.
Because he’s so big, he should fight at light heavyweight. Berlanga’s decision to stay at 168 is understandable, but he isn’t talented enough to beat even the contenders at 175.
Wish list
“After my fight on March 8, these are the next six fights I want in no particular order.
Line’em for me 🇵🇷🇵🇷👑👑 “said Edgar Berlanga on X.Jamie Munguia
Jermall Charlo

Hamzah Sheeraz
Canelo Alvarez – rematch
Diego Pacheco
Fighters like Caleb Plant and Hamzah Sheeraz would probably jump at the chance to fight Berlanga. The former IBF Super Middleweight champion has already tried to fight him, but with no luck. If Plant tried to fight him, he could ignore him and continue to play it safe, waiting and hoping that Canelo would bless him with a rematch.
Berlanga has yet to beat anyone to prove that he is a B-level fighter. He is not up to the level of the way he looked against Canelo and in some of his other fights.
Berlanga’s best wins:
– Steve Rolls
– Roamer Alexis Angulo
– Marcelo brakes
– Demon Nicholson
– Jason Quigley
– Padraig McCrory
