Seventh-placed Bournemouth kick off the new Premier League season with a visit to Everton on Saturday afternoon.
The Cherries ended 2024 in impressive form, securing three wins and three draws in December. Two of those wins came against Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester United as Andoni Iraola punished the struggling giants with his high-octane approach.
Bournemouth could climb as high as fifth if they taste victory this weekend and other results go their way, but Everton will prove a serious challenge. The Toffees secured impressive draws against Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester City during December, results that helped them move two points clear of the relegation zone.
The reverse fixture served as one of the most dramatic comebacks in Premier League history. Everton led by two goals until the 87th minute at Goodison Park, but conceded three late in the heavy defeat.

Bournemouth welcome Justin Kluivert back from suspension after missing the Fulham clash and Iraola confirmed Tyler Adams is available after being ruled out by a knock last weekend. However, the Spanish coach has confirmed that none of the other absentees will return against Everton.
This means that Adam Smith, Marcos Senesi and Julian Araujo are missing in the back line, while Marcus Tavernier, Alex Scott and Luis Sinisterra are unavailable up front.

Bournemouth have been hugely impressive at home this season, beating Arsenal, Manchester City and Spurs at the Vitality Stadium. However, their intense and fiery approach may ironically prove less effective against Everton’s stubborn low block.
The Toffees will be looking to frustrate their hosts and have done a great job of limiting their opponents in recent weeks. But the return of Kluivert completes a threatening Cherries forward line, which should have enough quality to get past Dyche’s defensive unit.
