US aerospace giant Boeing has told BBC News it is donating $1 million (£812,600) to President-elect Donald Trump’s inauguration fund.
Google also confirmed it had made a similar donation as the two companies join a growing list of major US companies contributing to the fund.
Oil producer Chevron and tech giants Meta, Amazon and Uber are also on the list.
Trump’s inauguration, which marks the start of his second term in the White House, is scheduled to take place on January 20.
“We are pleased to continue Boeing’s bipartisan tradition of supporting US presidential inauguration committees,” Boeing said.
The company added that it has made similar donations to each of the past three presidential inauguration funds.
Boeing is working to recover from the safety and quality control crisis, as well as deal with losses from last year’s strike.
The company is also building the next presidential plane, known as Air Force One. The two jets are expected to enter service as early as next year.
During his first term as president, Trump forced the plane maker to renegotiate the contract, calling the initial deal too expensive.
Google has become the latest major technology company to donate to the fund, following similar announcements from Meta and Amazon. It is also said that it will broadcast the event worldwide.
“Google is pleased to support the 2025 inauguration, with a livestream on YouTube and a direct link on our home page,” said Karan Bhatia, Google’s global head of government affairs and public policy.
Automobile companies Ford, General Motors and Toyota also donated $1 million each to the inaugural committee.
As for the energy industry, Chevron confirmed it had made a donation to the fund, but declined to say how much.
“Chevron has a long tradition of celebrating democracy by supporting inaugural committees of both parties. We are proud to do so again this year,” said Bill Turene, Chevron’s global media relations manager.
