Bangladesh unveil 15-man squad for Champions Trophy 2025; no room for Litton Das
The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) officially presented the national team for the upcoming season ICC Men’s Champions Trophy 2025which will be hosted by Pakistan and the United Arab Emirates. The announcement marks a significant step as Bangladesh prepares to compete against some of the world’s best cricket teams in this prestigious One Day International (ODI) tournament.
Najmul Hossain Shanto returns as captain
Under the leadership Najmul Hossain Shantowho will captain the team, Bangladesh have named a 15-member squad that blends experience with youthful exuberance. Najmul will captain the team at the tournament, after which he returns to that role Mehidy Hasan Miraz filled in for him during the previous bilateral series. He has recovered from a groin injury sustained in November.
There is no place for Litton Das in the Bangladesh team
Litton Das was excluded from the 15-member team. The decision followed concerns over the wicketkeeper-batsman’s poor form, as admitted by Bangladesh’s chief coach Gazi Ashraf Hossain in December. Litton has scored just six runs across three ODIs in the Caribbean. By his omission, Jaker Ali he is expected to take over the duty of guarding the passage.

Players in focus
Apart from Najmul, Mushfiqur Rahim, Towhid Hridoyand Mustafizur Rahman rejoined the squad after missing the 3-0 ODI series defeat to West Indies last month. Both Rahim and Hridoy are returning just in time for the tournament after injuries. Veteran Rahim is back after recovering from a finger injury, while Hridoy, like his captain, has recovered from a groin injury.
