Arsenal were rocked by a second injury in the FA Cup defeat after Gabriel Jesus

Arsenal are sweating over defender Jurrien Timber’s fitness after he limped off Sunday’s defeat to Manchester United with an apparent hamstring strain injury.

The gunners were kicked out of the FA Cup on penalties after 120 grueling minutes, hampered by the nasty knee injury suffered by Gabriel Jesuswhose condition “worried” Mikel Arteta.

Unfortunately, Jesus may not have been the only victim Arsenal also lost the Timber early in the second overtime.

“Timber limps and holds his hamstring – and signals to the bench that he needs to get up,” Simon Collings reported at the time.

Arteta did not mention Timber’s condition after the game, and most questions focused on the disturbing sight of Jesus leaving the field on a stretcher.

If the Timbers face a spell in the side, it will be a huge blow for Arteta, who has relied on the Dutchman in the absence of the injured Ben White, who has been sidelined long-term knee problems.

Takehiro Tomiyasu is also unavailable with a knee injury, meaning Arsenal would be without any natural right-backs if Timber is ruled out. Midfielder Thomas Partey previously covered that position.
