Arsenal and Man Utd have received reinforcements as the Premier League target remains open for a transfer
Wolverhampton Wanderers striker Matheus Cunha remains open to leaving the club this month, a report claims.
Cunha has significant interest in his services after scoring ten goals and providing four assists this season, with both Arsenal and Manchester United he thought he was interested in a move for the big-money Brazilian international.
A verbal agreement has been reached over a new contract for Cunha at Wolves, but he is now understood to be hesitant to put pen to paper and Fabrizio Romano revealed that the situation is very “open”.
Further complicating matters were some harsh words from Wolves manager Vitor Pereira, who was unimpressed with Cunha’s performance in Monday’s 3-1 defeat by Chelsea.
“He is the captain. He can be frustrated because he wants to win, but everyone in the dressing room wants to win. I don’t like his body language,” Pereira said. – Now I understand, next time I won’t.
Pereira, however, stressed that he does not believe that Cunha’s head was turned by the interest in his services.
“He is committed to Wolves,” insisted Pereira. “But in life when you start listening to other clubs [are interested]… he is human and that is normal in football.”
The Daily Mail state-owned Nottingham Forest have identified Cunha as their top transfer target for the remainder of the winter window, with Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur also understood to have expressed an interest.
