Real Betis have signed Manchester United winger Antonio on loan until the end of the season, subject to international clearance.
Antony joins Betis on a direct loan deal with the Sevilla-based side having no option to buy.
A statement from Manchester United read: “Everyone at United would like to wish Antonio the best of luck for his spell at Sevilla.”
Betis are managed by former Manchester City boss Manuel Pellegrini and are still involved in this season’s UEFA Conference League.
United played Betis in the United States in July as part of their pre-season tour and Antony featured in the second half of a 3-2 win for his parent club.
Antony joined United from Ajax in September 2022 to work under his former boss Erik Ten Hag for a fee of £86m, making him the second most expensive signing in the club’s history.
But the 24-year-old has failed to justify his price tag, scoring 12 goals in 96 appearances.
Antony has scored just one Premier League goal since April 2023 and his Premier League starts have dropped from 23 in his first year to 15 last season and none during the current campaign.
The winger has featured in just 13 of United’s 32 games in all competitions this season.
United want Antony to get regular first-team football before reassessing his future in the summer.
Antony scored 25 goals in 82 club appearances for Ajax under ten HAG.
