Airplane fire in South Korea causes mass evacuation
The Airbus plane lit at the Busan City Airport in South Korea, forcing evacuation of all 176 people on board, fire authorities say.
Three people are said to have been injured while fled Tuesday night at the southeastern airport Air Buzan on inflated slides.
The flames are said to have started in the tail of the aircraft related to Hong Kong, just before the take -off. Firefighters – who arrived in a few minutes – they were seen trying to extinguish the fire that spread to the hull.
This comes less than a month after the worst air disaster is on South Korean soil, when the aircraft of the air crashed at the Southwestern Muan airport, killing 179 people. Two people survived.
The Air Busan Gimhae International Airport Fire began around 22:26 local time (13:26 GMT) on Tuesday, Yonhap news agency said, citing South Korea fire department.
It said firefighters arrived at the scene eight minutes later.
Later, photographs appeared on which a burning aircraft that was pushed with water were shown.
There were 169 passengers and seven crews on the plane.
The cause of the fire is explored.
Air Busan is a budgetary airline, whose home company is Asiana Airlines.
Busana Airport is located about 315 km (195 miles) southeast of the capital, Seoul.
