South Africa dealt with a huge failure just a few days before the start of the long -awaited ICC Champion 2025 trophy, because Batter David Miller suffered an injury during the Sa20 permanent tournament.
Miller suffered this injury while playing for his team Paarl Royals against Durban’s Super Giants. The 35-year-old failed to stop the ride from Marcus Stoinis as he tightened on the blankets during 14.
David Miller was immediately attended by Team Physio and was drawn from the field for further examinations. It should be noted that he and the captain of his SA20 team is Paarl Royals, who is currently running a table of points.

David Miller suffered an injury before the champion trophy

Paarl Royals has not yet provided an official update of Miller’s fitness, but that should be expected soon. They will hope that their skipper will be appropriate because the tournament enters its last phase.
David Miller was in great form with a baton for Paarl Royals this season. The left back scored 183 rides on an average of 91.50 and a strike rate of 134.55 and played a key role in the progress of his team until the next stage.
Lungi ngidi to return
In addition to David Miller, Paarl Royals also sweat on the fitness of the fast bowlers Lungi Ngida, who is also part of the southern African champion trophy. Experienced fast missed most of last summer due to a groin injury and just made a professional return.
But Royals head coach Trevor Penney is convinced that he returns to cricket at a high level and expects to be available for the next Paarl Royals match against Joburg Super Kings on January 30th.
“With Lungi (Ngida) we know big fast bowlers like him, sometimes it took them a few weeks to get back to that full stream and rhythm. It’s hard for fast bowlers,” Penney said.
“He was out (with a groin injury) about eight weeks. So he is on a program where he has almost returned now. So we played it in the first few games so he could get some time to play. And I’m sure when we go to Highveld, he will come back straight, “he added.
Concern for injuries to South African speeds
South Africa has been suffering big problems with injuries lately, which has pushed out her preparations for the upcoming champion trophy. Fast Bowler Anrich Nortje was excluded from the tournament after he was initially named on the team due to a back injury.
Gerald Coetzee, who probably replaced him for the champion trophy, suffered an injury to the lower leg earlier in the SA20 to exclude from the tournament. Nandre Burger’s left hand is also outside the SA20 and a champion trophy due to injury.
