1 dead, 7 injured after Tesla Cybertruck catches fire outside Trump Hotel in Las Vegas: Police
One person was killed and seven were injured when a Tesla Cybertruck caught fire outside the Trump International Hotel Las Vegas on Wednesday morning, according to officials.
The Las Vegas Police Department is investigating a vehicle fire that occurred this morning outside the hotel, which is located near S. Sammy Davis Jr. Drive and Fashion Drive.
According to a post by the police department on social networks, the fire on the vehicle took place at the entrance to the hotel.
Clark County Fire Deputy Chief Thomas Touchstone said crews, along with firefighters Las Vegas Police and Las Vegas Fire and Rescue, responded to the scene about four minutes after receiving a report of a fire at the hotel.
When the teams arrived, they quickly started extinguishing the fire when they also realized that there were more injured people.
Touchstone said seven people suffered minor injuries, two of whom were taken to an area hospital.
He also said one person died in the Cybertruck, although no details were given about the person.
The vehicle was completely extinguished, and according to Las Vegas Police Chief Kevin McMahill, the scene is safe.
Jeremy Schwartz, the FBI’s lead special agent, also told reporters that one person has died, though there aren’t many answers at this point.

In another post on X, President-elect Trump’s son, Eric Trump, released a statement about the incident.
“Earlier today, an electric was reported there was a vehicle fire in the Trump Las Vegas porte cochère,” Eric wrote. “The safety and well-being of our guests and staff remains our top priority. Our heartfelt thanks to the Las Vegas Fire Department and local police for their quick response and professionalism.”
Police did not immediately respond to Fox News Digital’s request for more information.
Tesla CEO Elon Musk responded to a vehicle fire at X.
“The entire Tesla senior team is currently investigating this matter,” he wrote. “We will release more information as soon as we know anything. We have never seen anything like this.”

FOX 5 in Las Vegas reported that smoke could be seen coming from the tower in video obtained by the outlet. The station also reported that it obtained surveillance video that suggests the fireworks may have been inside the vehicle, which was a Tesla Cybertruck.
