Pep Guardiola desperately begs Man City for a transfer after Everton’s draw
Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola called on those in charge at the Etihad to be active in the transfer market to end his side’s miserable run of form.
City have dropped to seventh in the Premier League table with a run of just one win in their last 13 games in all competitions, five points adrift of the top four with a game in hand over Arsenal, who return to action on Friday night.
Guardiola has not shied away from talking about his side’s injury struggles, with fitness issues allowing him to name just three recognized senior players on the bench for Draw with Everton 1-1 on Thursdayone of which was third baseman Scott Carson.
“We have to add players, definitely,” Guardiola said Amazon Prime.
“You know, we are struggling – especially at the back and in the middle, so I think we have to. But when I say that, I don’t know what will happen. The transfer window in the winter is not easy, but everyone is aware of that. Even our players are aware of our situation and what we need make.”
City They are expected to be incredibly active in the transfer market during 2025. Replacing the injured Rodri is a priority, but Guardiola also wants more defenders signed, as well as some viable competition for striker Erling Haaland.
Squad rebuilding is high on the agenda at the Etihad and club officials recognize the urgent need for recruitment, so they will move their plans forward to the January window rather than taking the traditional route of waiting until the summer.
