Marcus Rashford decides on preferred transfer destination ahead of potential Man Utd exit
Marcus Rashford would prioritize a transfer to Barcelona if the opportunity arises to leave Manchester United, the report claims.
Rashford has failed to make United’s last three matchday squads and new head coach Ruben Amorim admits he has he was not impressed according to the attitude of the 27-year-old behind the scenes.
Uncertainty over Rashford’s future was fueled by his admission that he was ready for a “new challenge”, and it was soon announced that The English representative sees the move to La Liga as a “dream”.
Now, SPORT go one step further and name Barcelona as Rashford’s preferred destination.
It is claimed that Rashford believes Barcelona’s style of play would suit him better than any other side in Spain, with La Liga leaders Atletico Madrid previously named as potential candidates for the versatile striker.
The problem, however, is that Barcelona cannot afford to come close to the total package required to sign Rashford, who is expected to be available for a fee of around £40m in January.
On top of that cost are Rashford’s massive wages of over £300,000 a week. Barcelona have already made it clear that they will have to agree to at least halve their wages if they want to move to Catalonia.
As things stand, there isn’t much optimism surrounding Rashford’s move to Barcelona, who may have to take a pay cut if he really wants to seal a move from United.
