Indian stocks rose at the close; Nifty 50 up 0.35% Investing.com
Investing.com – India stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the , and sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close, the NSE added 0.35 percent while the index added 0.33 percent.
The best performers of the session were Dr Reddy’s Laboratories Ltd (NS:), which rose 2.53% or 34.30 points to trade at 1,389.45 at the close. Meanwhile, Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. (NS:) added 2.48% or 73.80 points to end at 3,049.45 and IndusInd Bank Ltd. (NS: ) was up 2.30% or 21.45 points to 953.40 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Hindalco Industries Ltd. (NS: ), which fell 1.81% or 11.35 points to 617.40 at the close. Coal India Ltd ( NS: ) declined 1.58% or 6.10 points to 380.50 and State Bank Of India ( NS: ) was down 1.58% or 12.80 points to 799.65.
The top performers on the BSE Sensex 30 were Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. (BO:) which rose 2.47% to 3,050.00, IndusInd Bank Ltd. ( BO: ) which rose 2.41% to 954.60 and Tata Motors Ltd ( BO: ) which gained 1.73% to close at 753.65.
The worst performers were State Bank of India (BO: ), which fell 1.37% to 800.50 in late trade, Tata Steel Ltd (BO: ), which lost 0.93% to 139.05, and UltraTech Cement Ltd (BO: ) which fell by 0.72% to 11,375.05 at the close.
Declining stocks outnumbered advancing stocks on the National Stock Exchange of India by 1,291 to 1,197, with 154 ending unchanged; on the Bombay Stock Exchange, 1949 fell and 1838 advanced, while 116 ended unchanged.

Gold futures for February delivery fell 0.51%, or 13.46, to $2,640.44 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, crude oil for delivery in February rose 0.45% or 0.31 to $69.93 a barrel, while the March Brent crude contract rose 0.33% or 0.24 to 73 .09 dollars per barrel.
USD/INR rose 0.37% to 85.59, while EUR/INR rose 0.65% to 89.15.
US dollar index futures rose 0.03% to 107.92.
