(Reuters) – A South Korean Jeju Air passenger plane crashed on landing at Muan International Airport on Sunday, killing 179 people in the country’s deadliest air crash.

The following are the last minutes of flight 7C2216 according to South Korea’s Ministry of Transport and Fire Services.

All times are Korean Standard Time (GMT+9).

8:54 a.m. – Muan Airport Air Traffic Control clears the plane to land on Runway 01, which is oriented 10 degrees east of north.

8:57 a.m. – Air traffic control issues a “caution – bird activity” warning.

8:59 a.m. – The pilot of flight 7C2216 reports a bird strike, calls out the alert “Mayday Mayday Mayday” and “Bird strike, bird strike, go-round.”

9:00am – Flight 7C2216 initiates a go-around and requests clearance to land on Runway 19, which is the approach from the opposite end of the airport’s single runway.

9:01 – Air traffic control approves landing on runway 19.

9:02 – Flight 7C2216 makes contact with the runway at about 1,200 m (1,312 yd) point of the 2,800 m (3,062 yd) runway.

9:02:34 – Air traffic control alerts the “distress bell” to the airport fire rescue unit.

9:02:55 – The airport’s fire-rescue unit has completed the deployment of fire-rescue equipment.

9:03 – Flight 7C2216 crashed into an embankment after overrunning the runway.

9:10 – The Ministry of Transport received a report of the accident from the airport authorities.

9:23 – One man rescued and transported to a temporary medical facility.

9:38 – Muan Airport is closed.

9:50 – The rescue of the second person from inside the tail part of the plane is completed.
