Chelsea’s release clause pushes the South American star’s arrival until January


Chelsea are believed to have triggered the early termination clause of centre-back Aaron Anselmino’s loan move to Boca Juniors.

The Blues completed a deal to sign 19-year-old Anselmino in the summer for a fee of £15m, with the highly-rated defender returning to Boca on loan until the summer of 2025.

However, German Garcia Grove states Chelsea they triggered a clause that allows them to terminate Anselmino’s loan in January and bring the teenager to Europe immediately.

Chelsea are said to want Anselmino to gain experience in European football as soon as possible, although a concrete plan for the Argentina youth international remains to be seen.

He could stay in Enzo Maresca’s senior team or go out on loan sister side Strasbourg in France it could continue if one of the existing loan agreements is terminated. Goalkeeper Đorđe Petrović and midfielder Andrey Santos have impressed for the French side, but questions remain over injured left-back Caleb Wiley.

January will also see another exciting young signing, record winger Estevaobrought to London to briefly taste life in England. The Palmeiras sensation will then return to Brazil as he cannot move until he turns 18 in April.

Ecuadorian midfielder Kendry Paez, also 17, will join the Chelsea squad at the end of the season after his 18th birthday.
