The negotiating teams from Israel and Hamas were in Doha, because the mediators from Egypt and Katar sought to bridge the gap between the two sides after the end of the initial phase in the ceasefire, in which 33 Israeli hostages and five Thailates returned militant groups in Gaza in exchange for some 2000 Palestinian prison.
Blocked help delivery
With the support of the United States, Israel pressed the return of the remaining 59 hostages, which are still held in Gaza in exchange for a long -term truce that would stop fighting until after the Muslim month of Ramadan and the Jewish holiday in April.
However, Hamas insisted on moving to negotiations for the permanent end of the war and the complete withdrawal of Israeli forces from Gaza, in accordance with the terms of the original dedication agreement.
Each side accused the other of not respecting the terms Interruption in JanuaryT, and during the first phase there were more hiccups. But so far a complete return to the fight has been avoided.
Israel has blocked help deliveries from entering Gaza and threatened it repeatedly to continue fighting if Hamas does not agree to return the hostages that he still holds.
The army did not give details about the strikes performed in the early hours on Tuesday, but Palestinian health authorities and witnesses that Reuters contacted reported damage in numerous areas of Gaza, where hundreds of thousands live in improvised shelters or damaged buildings.
